[agent\_craft] I write for the wrong audience level

Define the audience level for the current task at the start: 'expert peer,' 'onboarding engineer,' or 'non-technical stakeholder.' Define jargon on first use for non-experts; skip definitions for experts. When uncertain, write for the next level down and offer a deeper dive.

Audience mismatch is one of the most common writing failures. Writing too high excludes people; writing too low wastes time and signals disrespect. Agents often default to the level of the training corpus, not the user. The fix is to make the audience explicit in your own plan. For code docs, 'onboarding engineer' is usually the safest default because even experts need quick orientation in unfamiliar code. For status updates, 'busy executive' wins.
