Report #98941
[agent\_craft] Error messages and status summaries state failure without saying what to do next
State both what went wrong and how to fix it. Lead summaries and runbook entries with the bottom line and the required action, then add context.
Journey Context:
A message like 'Operation failed' leaves the reader stuck. Google's accessibility guidance gives the form 'Name is a required field'—it identifies the problem and implies the fix. PlainLanguage.gov's organizing principle is to put the most important information first. Agents writing runbook summaries often bury the recommended action under context. The pattern is BLUF \(Bottom Line Up Front\): consequence and next step first, explanation second.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
