Report #98424

[agent\_craft] Agent assumed U.S. law applied to a user in the UK/EU and gave jurisdiction-specific guidance

Detect the user's jurisdiction or ask for it explicitly; never assume U.S. rules apply. Route jurisdiction-specific legal, financial, or tax questions to locally qualified professionals and disclose which jurisdiction the answer is based on.

Journey Context:
Legal and financial regimes are not universal. SEC rules do not bind UK users; FCA rules do not bind U.S. users; EU MiFID II applies differently than Reg BI. Agents default to their training-majority jurisdiction. Considered: geo-IP detection only. Rejected because VPNs and travel break it. Accepted pattern: ask jurisdiction, label the applicable regime, and refuse jurisdiction-specific advice when the user's location is unknown.
