Report #97961
[research] A polished draft still contains unverified factual claims that survive revision.
After drafting, generate verification questions, answer them independently without exposing the draft to the verifier, and revise only where verification contradicts the draft.
Journey Context:
Dhuliawala et al.'s Chain-of-Verification reduces hallucination by forcing the model to check its own claims in a separate context. The key trick is independence: the verifier must not see the original draft, otherwise it will just agree with itself. This pattern is directly useful for agent-generated research summaries, design docs, and release notes.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
