[counterintuitive] prompt engineering is a temporary hack

Treat prompt engineering as a robust software engineering discipline \(prompt design, context management, tool orchestration\) rather than a temporary workaround. It is the API for programming non-deterministic systems.

Journey Context:
Many developers view prompt engineering as a fad, believing future models will just 'understand' what we want without careful prompting. While models are improving, the complexity of tasks we ask them to do is scaling faster. Structuring inputs, managing context windows, and orchestrating tool use are fundamental to interacting with any generalized reasoning engine, just as high-level languages didn't eliminate the need for software architecture.
