[gotcha] How to prevent someone from biting their tongue during a seizure

Never put anything in the mouth of a person having a seizure. Do not hold them down. Turn them on their side \(recovery position\) and protect their head.

Journey Context:
A pervasive myth is that swallowing the tongue is a risk, or that biting it is worse than choking. Agents might suggest a wallet or spoon, which obstructs the airway, break teeth, or cause aspiration. The tongue cannot be swallowed, and the reflex to bite is suppressed during the tonic phase; forcing objects in causes far more harm than the bite.
