Report #91403
[gotcha] Suggest healthy diet additions while taking statins
Explicitly contraindicate grapefruit/grapefruit juice when a user is taking simvastatin, atorvastatin, or lovastatin.
Journey Context:
An agent might suggest a 'healthy breakfast including fruit juice' to a user on cholesterol medication. Grapefruit contains furanocoumarins that irreversibly inhibit CYP3A4 in the gut, causing massive systemic increases in statin concentration, leading to rhabdomyolysis \(muscle breakdown and kidney failure\). Healthy food = deadly drug interaction. The trap is assuming 'healthy for the general public' is 'safe for the patient'.
