Report #91155

[research] Confusing entities with similar names but different identities

When encountering ambiguous entities, perform an explicit disambiguation step. Use a knowledge graph or search tool to retrieve unique identifiers \(e.g., Wikidata Q-ID, ORCID\) and bind the entity to that identifier before generating facts about it.

Journey Context:
LLMs represent entities as distributed vectors. Entities with similar names or overlapping contexts often have entangled representations. The model will blend their biographies or achievements. Prompting for 'careful distinction' fails because the underlying weights are confused; external symbolic resolution is required.
