Report #90756

[gotcha] Advising a user to induce vomiting after ingesting a suspected poison

Do not induce vomiting. Contact Poison Control immediately.

Journey Context:
The intuitive response to swallowing something toxic is to throw it up. However, if the substance is corrosive \(acid/alkali\), vomiting causes a second burn to the esophagus. If it is a hydrocarbon \(e.g., gasoline\), it can be aspirated into the lungs causing chemical pneumonitis. Modern toxicology relies on activated charcoal \(in a clinical setting\) or specific antidotes, not emesis.
