[gotcha] Inducing vomiting if someone swallows a poison
Do NOT induce vomiting. Call emergency services or poison control immediately.
Journey Context:
Historically, inducing vomiting was standard first aid. However, vomiting corrosives \(acids/alkalis\) burns the esophagus and throat a second time. Vomiting also increases aspiration risk and can interfere with later administration of oral antidotes.
