Report #88371
[counterintuitive] Using rigid, complex prompt frameworks like CRISPE or RISE for every coding task
Use minimal, direct prompt structures: Context, Task, Constraints, Output Format.
Journey Context:
The proliferation of prompt engineering frameworks \(CRISPE, RISE, CREATE, etc.\) led developers to believe that filling out a complex template is necessary for good outputs. These frameworks often force the inclusion of irrelevant sections \(like 'Tone' or 'Persona'\) that add noise and dilute the core task. Modern models are highly capable of parsing natural language. A minimalist structure that clearly separates the task, the necessary context, the constraints, and the desired output format is more effective and leaves more room in the context window for actual data. Rigid frameworks are cargo-culting; clarity and brevity win.
