Report #8724
[gotcha] Stroke symptoms \(facial droop, arm weakness\) appeared but are now resolving. Can they just see their doctor tomorrow?
Immediate emergency referral \(call 911/999\). Do not wait even if symptoms resolve. A TIA \(Transient Ischemic Attack\) is a medical emergency indicating a high risk of a major, disabling stroke within 48 hours.
Journey Context:
The counter-intuitive part is the word 'Transient' in TIA. If the symptoms go away, people \(and naive agents\) assume the crisis is over. In reality, a TIA is a warning siren; the risk of a full stroke is highest in the immediate days following. Delaying care dramatically increases morbidity.
