Report #87206
[agent\_craft] User is in acute emotional crisis; agent asks 'why' questions to understand the trigger
Replace 'why' questions with 'what' or 'how' questions, or purely reflective statements. Instead of "Why do you feel that way?", use "What happened that made you feel this way?" or "It sounds like something really difficult happened."
Journey Context:
'Why' demands rational justification from a brain in an irrational, emotional state \(amygdala hijack\). It implies judgment and places a cognitive burden on the user. 'What' and 'How' questions are exploratory and allow the user to narrate at their own pace without defending their feelings.
