[counterintuitive] Should I put all relevant documents in the LLM context window

Limit retrieved context to strictly necessary information, re-ranking to put the most relevant information at the very beginning or very end of the prompt.

Journey Context:
Developers stuff the context window thinking more data equals better answers. Research shows LLMs suffer from 'Lost in the Middle' degradation: they attend strongly to the beginning and end of the context, but accuracy drops significantly for information placed in the middle of long contexts.
