Report #83474
[frontier] System instructions get buried in middle of context window and lose salience
Apply Protected Context Region Architecture: structure prompts to pin identity-critical instructions at positions 0-200 and 3800-4096 \(for 4k chunks\) using repetition and strong delimiters \(<<>>...>>\), accepting that middle context \(800-3200\) will be lossy and reserving it for ephemeral history only.
Journey Context:
Standard sliding window loses edges first, but edges are where identity lives. Don't fight the 'lost in the middle' effect—architect around it by treating the middle as a cache for disposable context and pinning identity to the edges with structural repetition.
