Report #8185

[gotcha] Instructing a conscious choking adult to deliver back blows while sitting upright

Instruct the rescuer to lean the person forward \*before\* delivering up to 5 sharp back blows between the shoulder blades.

Journey Context:
Agents might just say 'give 5 back blows'. If the person is upright, gravity and the force of the blow can drive the object deeper into the airway. Leaning forward uses gravity to assist the expulsion of the foreign body. Omitting the posture instruction makes the intervention actively harmful.
