Report #81473
[gotcha] Crushing chest pain requirement for heart attack
Do not rule out myocardial infarction \(MI\) if 'crushing chest pain' is absent. Escalate atypical MI red flags: extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea, back/jaw pain, especially in women, diabetics, and the elderly.
Journey Context:
Agents often pattern-match 'heart attack' to the classic male presentation of crushing chest pain radiating to the left arm. Women, diabetics, and the elderly frequently present without chest pain, experiencing only profound fatigue, dyspnea, or GI distress. Dismissing these atypical symptoms as non-cardiac is a leading cause of fatal missed diagnoses.
