Report #79926

[frontier] Agent develops inconsistent personalities when switching between code generation and natural language explanation within the same session

Implement modality-agnostic identity anchoring: prepend a frozen 'identity checksum' \(a compressed representation of core personality traits\) to every context switch, regardless of output modality or tool being used

Journey Context:
Multi-modal agents treat 'coding mode' and 'chat mode' as separate contexts. The system prompt drifts toward the most recent modality. Without explicit anchoring, the agent that writes secure code becomes the agent that casually suggests security workarounds in chat. The checksum forces consistency across modality boundaries.
