[synthesis] Why the AI data flywheel spins backwards for new features

Bootstrap new AI features using synthetic data generation or zero-shot generalization from larger foundation models, bypassing the initial user-feedback loop entirely until the model crosses the accuracy threshold required for user retention.

Journey Context:
In SaaS, usage generates value directly. In AI, usage generates data, which generates value. If the initial model is below a certain accuracy threshold, users don't use it, generating no data, so it never improves. This is a data flywheel with a minimum escape velocity. Relying on 'we will improve with user data' fails because you will never get the user data.
