Report #7978
[gotcha] Reassuring a user that their condition is not an emergency because their blood pressure is 'normal' despite signs of severe distress or bleeding
Never use normal blood pressure as a sole indicator to rule out an emergency. In acute blood loss or trauma, BP remains normal until ~30% of blood volume is lost \(compensated shock\). Prioritize heart rate, skin signs, and mental status.
Journey Context:
Agents often apply the logic 'normal BP = stable.' In human physiology, peripheral vasoconstriction and tachycardia maintain BP until compensatory mechanisms abruptly fail \(uncompensated shock\). Reassuring a user based on 'normal BP' during acute trauma creates a false sense of security and delays life-saving care.
