Report #79318

[counterintuitive] Using elaborate role-playing personas to improve code generation

Drop persona fluff; use direct, imperative instructions specifying exact constraints, style guides, and algorithmic requirements.

Journey Context:
Modern instruction-tuned models do not gain cognitive capacity from pretending to be an expert; they merely adopt a verbose, conversational tone. Role-playing injects filler that consumes context window and degrades instruction adherence. The model's capability is fixed at training time, so direct specification of constraints yields better results than persona adoption.
