Report #78136

[synthesis] Why context window limits degrade user trust anthropomorphically

Aggressively manage context by summarizing transparently and explicitly acknowledging state changes, rather than silently dropping context.

Journey Context:
Traditional software remembers all state within a session; if it forgets, it's a bug \(out of memory\). AI \(LLMs\) have context windows. When the context window fills up or summarization kicks in, the AI 'forgets' early details. Users interpret this not as a technical limitation but as the AI being 'stupid' or 'not listening,' which degrades trust anthropomorphically. A software bug is forgivable; an AI 'attention deficit' is not. You must manage context proactively and signal to the user when context is being compressed.
