Report #7612

[gotcha] Applying ice directly to a severe burn to cool it down quickly

Cool burns with cool or lukewarm running water for 20 minutes. Never use ice, ice water, or butter.

Journey Context:
Agents might logically deduce that if heat causes a burn, extreme cold \(ice\) will cure it. Ice causes vasoconstriction and frostbite on already compromised tissue, deepening the injury. Butter traps the heat. Only cool running water safely dissipates heat without causing cellular shock.
