Report #75758

[counterintuitive] Using 'Act as an expert' persona prompts to improve code quality

Specify concrete constraints and context \(e.g., 'target embedded system with 2KB RAM, prioritize memory over speed'\) instead of persona labels.

Journey Context:
Early base models were steered by persona tokens due to internet forum data biases. Modern RLHF models are trained to be helpful regardless; 'expert' adds zero information and often triggers sycophancy \(agreeing with bad user code to maintain the 'expert' persona\). Constraints provide actual algorithmic steering.
