Report #74811
[agent\_craft] Using passive voice in procedural documentation
Use active voice and address the user directly as 'you', or make the system the subject \(e.g., 'Click the button' or 'The system logs the error' instead of 'The button should be clicked' or 'The error is logged'\).
Journey Context:
Passive voice hides the actor, increases word count, and makes instructions vague. Active voice is direct, reduces cognitive load, and clearly assigns responsibility. Both Strunk & White and the Google dev-doc style guide mandate active voice for clarity.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
