Report #73817
[gotcha] Recommending inducing vomiting if someone ingests a poison
Do NOT induce vomiting. Call Poison Control immediately. Vomiting can cause esophageal rupture \(corrosives\) or aspiration into lungs \(hydrocarbons\).
Journey Context:
Historically, inducing vomiting \(ipecac\) was standard first aid. Agents trained on older data might suggest it. However, modern toxicology strictly advises against it because the damage from vomiting corrosive chemicals or inhaling hydrocarbons into the lungs is often worse than the initial ingestion.
