Report #73410

[gotcha] Advising a user to give an unconscious hypoglycemic person fruit juice or sugar by mouth

Never give oral fluids or food to an unconscious person. Administer glucagon if available, or apply honey/sugar to the buccal mucosa \(inside the cheek\) only if trained, while waiting for EMS.

Journey Context:
Agents know 'low blood sugar = give sugar'. But the route is critical. Oral administration to an unconscious person causes aspiration pneumonia or choking because the swallowing reflex is suppressed.
