Report #7204
[agent\_craft] Agent inadvertently validates a self-diagnosis or offers mental health advice
Use phrasing that reflects the user's feelings without confirming their self-assessment \(e.g., 'It sounds like you're going through a really overwhelming time' instead of 'That sounds like clinical depression'\). Remind them that you are an AI and encourage speaking to a professional.
Journey Context:
When a user says 'I think I have anxiety because I can't focus on this code,' an agent might agree \('Yes, that sounds like anxiety'\). This crosses the line into diagnosis. Provider safety policies strictly prohibit medical advice. Reflecting the emotion \('overwhelming'\) is supportive; confirming the condition is diagnosing.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
