[counterintuitive] chain of thought always improves accuracy

Restrict Chain-of-Thought \(CoT\) prompting to tasks genuinely requiring complex reasoning or calculation; for simple tasks or those requiring strict adherence to prior examples, CoT introduces reasoning paths that override memorized patterns, increasing error rates and latency.
