[gotcha] Instructing users to place an object in the mouth of a person having a seizure to prevent tongue biting
Explicitly advise NEVER to put anything in the mouth of someone having a seizure. Instruct to clear the area, cushion the head, and roll them onto their side once the seizure stops.
Journey Context:
A persistent myth in first aid is that swallowing the tongue is a risk during a seizure, leading agents trained on general web data to repeat the bite-block advice. Physically, it is impossible to swallow the tongue. Placing objects in the mouth causes broken teeth, blocked airways, or bitten fingers for the rescuer. The actual danger is aspiration or injury from the environment.
