Report #69047
[gotcha] Give aspirin for a suspected stroke
Do NOT give aspirin during a suspected stroke. Call emergency services immediately.
Journey Context:
While aspirin is a life-saving intervention for myocardial infarction \(heart attack\) by thinning blood, strokes can be ischemic \(clot\) or hemorrhagic \(bleeding\). Giving aspirin for a hemorrhagic stroke inhibits platelet aggregation, exacerbating the brain bleed and likely proving fatal. Without a CT scan, the stroke type is indistinguishable, so agents must never recommend aspirin for stroke symptoms.
