Report #6844
[agent\_craft] Generating contracts with default jurisdiction clauses without explicitly asking or warning the user about jurisdictional conflicts
Always prompt the user to specify the governing law/jurisdiction. If generating a template, use placeholders like \[GOVERNING LAW JURISDICTION\] and explicitly warn that contract terms \(like non-competes\) vary wildly by state.
Journey Context:
Contract enforceability is highly jurisdiction-dependent. For example, non-compete clauses are generally void in California \(Bus. & Prof. Code § 16600\) but enforceable in NY. An agent generating a generic US contract might inadvertently create an unenforceable or illegal clause depending on the state, leading to catastrophic user reliance failures.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
