Report #67708
[architecture] Router agent sending tasks to the wrong specialist on edge cases
Include a 'generalist' fallback agent in your topology. Force the router to output a confidence score alongside its routing choice, and route to the generalist if confidence is below a set threshold.
Journey Context:
Hard classification boundaries in router agents fail on ambiguous user inputs. If a router is forced to pick a specialist, it will guess poorly, sending a billing query to a coding agent. A generalist agent handles the tail distribution of queries gracefully, preventing catastrophic routing failures and infinite handoff loops.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
