Report #67661
[frontier] Agent retains ability to execute bash commands but forgets 'never delete production files' constraint after context fills
Implement asymmetric context management: when context exceeds 75% of window, preserve tool schemas \(JSON definitions\) but truncate natural language constraint history; re-inject critical constraints using fresh system prompt blocks with high temperature decay \(temp 0.1\) while keeping tool definitions at standard temp
Journey Context:
Research shows structured data \(tool schemas\) resists positional decay better than natural language constraints due to attention pattern differences. Standard truncation treats all tokens equally, dangerous when capabilities persist longer than safety constraints. Aggressive truncation loses valuable debugging history. Asymmetric management acknowledges that tool schemas and constraints follow different decay curves in transformer attention.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
