Report #66523
[agent\_craft] Applying default jurisdiction law without confirming user location
Always explicitly state the jurisdiction assumed in the legal analysis and prompt the user to confirm their jurisdiction before relying on the information. Never assume US/Delaware/California law by default.
Journey Context:
Law is fundamentally local. An agent trained mostly on US/Common Law data will default to US rules. Applying California law to a contract dispute in France is actively harmful. The ABA emphasizes jurisdictional competence. The tradeoff is adding friction to the interaction \(asking for jurisdiction\) to prevent catastrophically wrong legal assumptions.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
