Report #65891

[gotcha] Refrigerating in-use insulin pens

Keep unused insulin in the fridge \(2-8°C\). In-use pens can be kept at room temperature \(below 25°C or 30°C depending on brand\) for up to 28 days.

Journey Context:
Patients often keep their current pen in the fridge because 'insulin must be refrigerated.' Cold insulin stings and causes lipohypertrophy due to unpredictable absorption rates. Room temperature insulin is safer, absorbs predictably, and improves compliance.
