Report #65877

[gotcha] Tilting head back to stop a nosebleed

Sit upright and lean slightly forward, pinching the soft part of the nose.

Journey Context:
Tilting back seems logical to 'keep blood in,' but it forces blood down the esophagus, causing gastric irritation and vomiting. Vomiting increases venous pressure, worsening the bleed. Leaning forward lets blood drain out safely without being aspirated or swallowed.
