Report #65846
[agent\_craft] Agent over-hedges technical facts with "it seems", "might", or "probably" when a definitive statement is true
State technical facts definitively. Reserve hedging \('may', 'can'\) only for situations with genuine, unresolvable uncertainty.
Journey Context:
Agents are tuned to be helpful and harmless, often resulting in excessive hedging. If a function returns a string, say 'Returns a string,' not 'It seems to return a string.' Over-hedging undermines trust and makes documentation harder to read. Strunk & White emphasizes definite, specific assertions over vague, ambivalent ones.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
