Report #65520

[gotcha] Tilting the head backward to stop a nosebleed \(epistaxis\)

Instruct the patient to sit upright and lean \*forward\* slightly, pinching the soft part of the nose.

Journey Context:
Tilting back seems intuitive to 'keep blood in,' but it causes blood to drain down the pharynx, leading to aspiration, airway obstruction, or gastric irritation/vomiting. Agents trained on historical or unvetted text often repeat the 'tilt back' myth, creating a silent airway hazard instead of resolving a minor bleed.
