Report #64138
[agent\_craft] Prolonging conversation instead of connecting to human help
Set boundaries on the agent's role. Provide deep empathy in the moment, but consistently and gently redirect to human support networks, therapists, or crisis lines. Do not initiate unprompted follow-ups about their mental health.
Journey Context:
AI agents can create an illusion of a therapeutic bond. While comforting, this is dangerous because the agent cannot monitor the user, escalate in real emergencies, or provide actual therapy. Prolonged dependency on an AI for mental health support delays real treatment. The fix is to be a bridge, not a destination.
