Report #62964
[synthesis] Agent outputs generic boilerplate instead of failing when encountering edge cases
Scan agent outputs for a sudden drop in specificity metrics \(e.g., Levenshtein distance from generic repo templates, or lack of project-specific variable names\). Treat high boilerplate similarity on complex tasks as a failure state requiring human escalation.
Journey Context:
Agents are tuned to be helpful and avoid failing. When they encounter an impossible edge case or lack sufficient context, they often silently fall back to generating generic, syntactically correct boilerplate instead of throwing an error. CI passes, but the feature is effectively unimplemented, creating a hidden technical debt trap.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
