Report #61410

[synthesis] The product death spiral caused by hallucinations in onboarding

Bootstrap AI features with high-precision, low-recall heuristics or pre-validated templates for the first user session, only switching to generative AI once the user's context is rich enough.

Journey Context:
AI needs data to be good, but users won't provide data if the AI is bad. If an AI hallucinates during onboarding \(when context is minimal\), the user churns immediately. The model never gets the data it needs to improve. Pure engineering products can rely on empty states and static tutorials; AI products try to generate and fail. Bootstrapping with deterministic rules breaks the cold-start loop.
