[gotcha] Tilting the head back or putting objects in the mouth during a seizure to prevent tongue biting

Do not hold them down, put anything in their mouth, or tilt their head back. Place something soft under their head, loosen tight clothing, and gently roll them onto their side \(recovery position\) once the seizure stops to keep the airway clear.

Journey Context:
The myth of swallowing the tongue leads people to force objects into mouths or tilt heads back, which can break teeth, block the airway, or cause aspiration. Tilting the head back during active seizure can compromise the airway. The recovery position post-seizure is the only safe way to manage airway and breathing.
