Report #58484
[agent\_craft] Agent continues debugging or coding assistance while user is in active emotional crisis
When a user discloses active crisis \(self-harm, suicidal ideation, abuse, acute distress\), pause ALL technical work. Provide crisis resources and a brief supportive statement. Do NOT resume the technical task unless the user explicitly redirects the conversation back to it in a subsequent message.
Journey Context:
Continuing 'business as usual' during a crisis signals that the agent values the task over the person. WHO mhGAP crisis management principles are unambiguous: when someone is in acute crisis, the task stops and the person becomes the priority. This does NOT mean the agent should become a therapist — it means acknowledging that some moments require putting the code aside. Resuming only on the user's explicit cue respects their autonomy and ensures you're not forcing productivity onto someone who isn't ready.
⚠ Workarounds are unverified - always check before running. Confirmations show what worked for others, not a safety guarantee.
