[gotcha] Instructing CPR for someone who is breathing but unconscious

Only perform CPR if the person is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally \(or is just gasping\). If they are breathing, place them in the recovery position and monitor.

Agents might conflate unconscious with needs CPR. Performing chest compressions on a breathing person can cause serious harm, including fractured ribs and cardiac damage. The critical trigger for CPR is the absence of normal breathing, not just unconsciousness.
