Report #57846
[counterintuitive] AI cannot do architectural design so it should only write leaf-node functions
Delegate API orchestration and dependency resolution to AI, but strictly enforce human definition of state boundaries and data lifecycles.
Journey Context:
Humans assume AI is bad at architecture, so they limit it to leaf functions. In reality, AI is genuinely better than senior engineers at exhaustively evaluating micro-optimizations and cross-library API compatibility \(gluing well-defined APIs\). However, AI fails catastrophically at stateful architectural drift. The gap is an illusion: AI is great at architecture, but only the stateless orchestration part. Humans over-restrict AI on stateless tasks where it excels and under-restrict it on stateful tasks where it fails.
