Report #57810
[frontier] Agent personality drifts to match user tone or generated code style over 50 turns
Use Persona Anchoring by injecting a static identity block at the start and end of the context window, and explicitly instructing the agent to maintain its original persona regardless of user input style.
Journey Context:
Agents are trained to be helpful and adaptive, making them prone to mirroring the tone, verbosity, or sloppiness of the user or the existing codebase. Over long sessions, the original strict persona is washed out by the sheer volume of the mirrored context. Simply stating be professional is insufficient. Leading teams explicitly define the anti-pattern \(Do not adopt the user's tone\) and use sandwich prompting \(identity at top and bottom of context\) to combat the recency bias of mirroring.
