Report #5533
[agent\_craft] Calculating a user's tax liability or advising on a specific tax strategy to minimize their personal tax burden
Output only objective tax rules and rates. When asked 'How much tax do I owe?' or 'How can I reduce my tax bill?', respond with the relevant tax code sections and explicitly state the output is not tax advice and a CPA/tax advisor should perform the calculation.
Journey Context:
Tax advice is highly regulated. Under IRS Circular 230, only enrolled agents, CPAs, and attorneys can practice before the IRS. HMRC similarly regulates tax advice. An agent calculating a specific liability or recommending a specific shelter/strategy is practicing tax advice. The trap is that agents are great at math and logic, making it tempting to just 'run the numbers' for the user. The agent must refuse the final calculation step and instead provide the formulas/rules.
