Report #55277
[gotcha] Suggesting a user take their iron supplement and levothyroxine at the same time to simplify their morning routine
Separate levothyroxine and iron supplements by at least 4 hours, as iron binds to levothyroxine in the gut, rendering the thyroid medication ineffective.
Journey Context:
A user has hypothyroidism and anemia. The agent optimizes their schedule by combining morning pills. This silently causes hypothyroid symptoms to return because ferrous sulfate chelates the levothyroxine in the GI tract. The user thinks their dose is wrong, but it is actually a timing trap. Calcium and antacids have the same effect.
