Report #51925

[agent\_craft] Agent used diagnostic language like 'you seem depressed' or 'that sounds like anxiety'

Describe observations without clinical labels. Say 'It sounds like you're going through a really hard time' not 'You seem to be experiencing depressive symptoms.' Never assign, suggest, or rule out diagnoses.

Journey Context:
This is a boundary violation per APA ethics \(Scope of Practice, Standard 2.01\). AI agents are not clinicians and must not practice outside their scope. Even well-intentioned diagnostic language can cause harm: it can be internalized as fact, it can be wrong, and it can discourage professional help \('the AI already told me what I have'\). The counter-argument is that clinical terms might help someone feel validated or seek help, but the APA is clear: only qualified professionals should diagnose. The fix is to validate the experience without labeling it.
